DRIVING IN LUXEMBOURG
Fuel Fuel is relatively cheap in Luxembourg, and queues can form at filling stations as drivers from surrounding countries take advantage of this. Carrying spare fuel in cans is not permitted. Traffic signs are posted in both French and German. Police are authorised to impose on-the-spot fines. Drivers are required to flash their headlights before overtaking at night outside built-up areas. Blue zone parking systems are in operation in the main centres. Parking meters are also used in Luxembourg City.
Most British drivers head straight past Luxembourg, but it's worth pausing to explore the Grand Duchy
(motorists who have held a licence for less than one year must not exceed 75 kph) Extracted from Haynes Glovebox guide DRIVING ABROAD by Robert Davies. This authoritive guide provides a wealth of information on all aspects of driving abroad. Order from www.haynes.co.uk
