Items such as roof racks and baby seats are available upon request and must be confirmed in advance of your arrival although these items cannot be guaranteed at any time.
Our local suppliers will make a charge for baby seats and roof racks. Although this is usually a nominal amount it can vary. If you need either of these items and want to know in advance of your hire if there will be a charge, please look next to the car you are considering, and click on the more info button next to it. All details of any extra charges will be listed in easy to read format.

Our answer is always yes. If at all possible, we highly recommend that you take your own baby seats or booster seats. This is because if you rent a car seat from a local car supplier, when you arrive you will find that your car seat is placed in the back seat of your vehicle upon arrival. It is not fitted into the car, and insurance prohibits suppliers from fitting the seat for you. You are required to fit the seat yourself. If you are not familiar with that particular type of seat, and do not know how to properly fit the seat, you may compromise the safety of your child. Our suppliers tell us that if you are confused about how to fit the seat, you may come back into the office, and ask an employee to come back out and show you how to fit the seat, but after they show you, they will unhook it, and you will still be expected to fit it yourself.
However, we understand that bringing your own child seat can be difficult. Many airlines will charge fees to transport your seat to your destination. So, if you are going to use a rental seat upon arrival, just be sure to allow some extra time to properly install the seat.

Each supplier varies on this policy, and so to find out if this would apply to your arrival, please look next to the car you are considering, and click on the more info button. All details of any extra charges will be listed in easy to read format.

Policies vary by supplier. Many of our suppliers supply the hire car with a full tank of petrol and then you return the car empty. You are expected to pay for the tank of petrol locally when you collect the car, and there are no refunds for the unused petrol. Other suppliers have a deposit system. A deposit is payable at the beginning of the hire for the fuel and is then refunded when the car is returned full. If it is not returned full, our local supplier will charge for fuel used at the prevailing rate, and there may be a small surcharge for the re-fuelling service. Please check the fuel policy for each supplier by clicking on the more info button next to the car you are considering. Back to top
Worldwide the standard minimum age to hire a car is 25 and the maximum age allowed is 75. However, most locations require a minimum age of 21 and have no maximum age limit. Young drivers will be considered in certain locations, but a surcharge may need to be paid. Please check the age restriction policy for each supplier by clicking on the more info button next to the car you are considering. .

Drivers must produce a full valid driving licence held for at least 12 months. If you have a photo card licence, both parts must be presented at the time of hire. The rental car companies reserve the right to refuse rental to anyone who does not meet eligibility requirements, or anyone deemed unfit to drive the vehicle due to excessive endorsements. In this event, Value Car Rentals has no further liability to the hirer.

Do car models vary?

All car hire is calculated on a 24-hour clock. The worldwide standard is a 59-minute grace period for return of the vehicle before an extra day charge will apply. Should you need to extend your rental during your hire, call Value Car Rentals and our staff will make those arrangements. However, if you extend the rental directly with our suppliers, you will be charged locally at the daily rate, which may be higher than our negotiated rates.
